Ai o Natal... a melhor época do ano, o cheiro das castanhas assadas, o cheiro a canela, os fritos de natal, o frio na rua, os galões quentinhos, as compras de última hora (como bons Portugueses que somos, há sempre compras de ultima hora!! é quase uma tradição sem o ser :))

DIY Almofada de Natal com Veado/ Christmas Deer Pillow

Este é um dos projectos que vou fazer este Natal para decorar a minha sala, este ano vi muitas ideias interessantes no pinterest.
Nos anos anteriores fiz estas almofadas com tecido de Natal que comprei no Ikea, e este ano decidi fazer outras para acompanhar as mais antigas nesta decoração que será em tons de vermelho e branco.
Para facilitar o trabalho andei à procura de capas de almofadas já feitas e baratas, mas só encontrava com tamanho de 50x50cm e eram enormes para aquilo que eu tinha em mente, então, decidi comprar o tecido e fazer eu mesma.

Nota: quem não tiver máquina de costura também pode fazer este projecto, basta comprar as capas de almofada já feitas e colar o veado com cola de tecido ou cola quente.


Material necessário:
1 metro de tecido branco (comprei o tecido Minna a 6.99€ no Ikea 100% algodão)/ ou capas já finalizadas
1 tecido vermelho à escolha
2 fechos de 40 cm brancos (pode não optar por fazer com fecho, mas com botões ou velcro)
Imprimir imagens de Rena (no meu caso foi A3, procurei na internet esta e esta)
Máquina de costura, tesoura, cola de tecido ou cola quente, linha branca, etc

Muito Importante !!: Lavar o tecido primeiro, às vezes estamos tão entusiasmadas para fazer as coisas que nos esquecemos de lavar e depois quando os trabalhos finais são lavados encolhem e deformam e ficamos tristes porque não fizemos a lavagem anteriormente.

This is one of the projects that I want do this Christmas to decorate my living room, I saw many interesting ideas in the pinterest.
In the previous years I made these pillows with Christmas fabric I bought at Ikea, and this year I decided to make other pillows to accompany the older ones in this decoration that will be in red and white.

To make my life easier, I was looking for inexpensive pillow cases, but i only found ones that was 19x19 Inch, but that size was huge for what I had in mind, so I decided to buy the fabric and do it myself.

Note: anyone who does not have a sewing machine can also do this project, just buy the already made cushion covers and paste the deer with fabric glue or hot glue.

Materials:
1 yard of white fabric (I bought the Minna fabric Ikea 100% cotton) / or already finished covers
2 Red frabric
2 zippers of 15.74 inch white (you can choose to do without zippers,use buttons or Velcro)
Print deer images (in my case it was A3,I searched the internet)

Sewing machine, scissors, fabric glue or hot glue, white line, etc.

Final size 16,3inch X 16,3inch


Very Important !!: Wash the fabric first, sometimes we are so excited to do the things that we forget to wash and then when the final piece's are washed they can shrink and deform and we regret we didn't wash the fabric previously.

PT:Fazer a almofada com fecho escondido
Eng: make the cushion with hidden zipper

PT: Cortar os moldes com as silhuetas dos veados no tecido vermelho e colar com cola de tecido centrado, (seguir instruções do fabricante da cola).
Eng:Cut the templates with the silhouettes of the deer on red fabric and glue in the center of the cushion with fabric glue (follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the glue).

PT: Faz ponto de zigzag a toda a volta a volta da peça.
Eng: Make zigzag stitch all the way around the piece.

PT: Após finalizar o zigzag aparar as pontas para desenho ficar mais definido, passar a ferro e colocar uma almofada de enchimento.

Eng: After finishing the zigzag trim the excess thread so the deer becomes more defined, iron the pillows and put a stuffing pillow inside.

Preparação para o Natal / Preparation for Christmas

O Natal... a época que mais gosto de todo o ano.
Todos os anos decoro a minha casa a preceito e como ela não é muito grande, é uma tarefa fácil :)
Todos os anos tenho dificuldade em escolher a cor principal da decoração.
Já tive vermelho e branco, branco, dourado e branco, castanho e branco... enfim gosto de tantos estilos diferentes que nunca sei qual escolher.
Reciclo a decoração que vou guardando em caixas e só retiro os adereços da cor que me apetece usar nesse ano.
Este ano quero fazer alguns DIY, vou tentar colocar todos aqui no blog.
O senão, é que com a alteração da hora, saio e entro em casa e ainda é de noite portanto, a luz para as fotografias é sempre péssima.

Every year I have difficulty choosing the main color of the decoration.

Versão Outono da Hobo Bag que vos mostrei antes, utilizei um tecido da loja Pra Kriar, que comprei no ano passado, não é o tecido mais indicado para malas que se usem com frequência, pois tem tendência a formar algum borboto, mas é um tecido tão fofo e tão lindo que não resisti  fazer esta mala.
O interior é preto e tem um bolso.

Autumn version of the Hobo Bag that I showed you before, I used a fabric from the Pra Kriar store (Lisbon), which I bought last year, it is not the most suitable fabric for frequently used bags, since it tends to form a litlle balls os wool (i dont know how to say in inglish, but it is a fabric so cute and so beautiful that I could not resist making this bag.
The interior is black and has a pocket.

Bolo de Cenoura e Chocolate / Carrot and Chocolate Cake

Este é o bolo que mais faço em casa, é um bolo fofo e húmido e não muito doce, é óptimo para acompanhar um chá ou café.

This is the cake I make all the time at home, it is a fluffy and moist cake and not very sweet, it is great to accompany a tea or coffee.

Cenoura e laranja ralada/ Carrot and peel organge grated)

Claras em castelo / Egg whites beated 

Claras e mistura de Cenoura juntas/ Egg whites and carrot mixture together

Bom Apetite!/ Enjoy!

Ingredientes do Bolo:
250 gr de Cenoura
Casca de 1 laranja
4 Ovos grandes
200 gr açucar
100 gr óleo
220 gr farinha
1 clh sopa de fermento
1 pitada de sal fino
Forma redonda com buraco
Manteiga e farinha para untar a forma


Cobertura de chocolate:
40 gr manteiga
40 gr de chocolate negro 70% em barra (pode colocar umas colheres de açúcar se preferir)
20 a 30 gr de leite (depende se gostar do chocolate mais líquido ou mais grosso)


-Pré-aqueça o forno a 180ºC
-Ralar a cenoura e a casa de laranja, reservar.
-Numa tigela à parte, separar os ovos e bater as gemas com açúcar até ficar com aspecto esbranquiçado, juntar a mistura de cenoura e laranja, o óleo, a farinha e o fermento.
-Noutra tigela, bater as claras em castelo com a pitada de sal fino.
-Juntar a mistura de cenoura às claras mexendo suavemente com uma vara de arames para não retirar o ar.

-Untar a forma com buraco com manteiga e polvilhar com farinha, deitar a mistura na forma e levar ao forno cerca de 40 min (varia de forno para forno) ao fim desse tempo, espetar um palito se não vier massa agarrada, está pronto!.
-Remover do forno e deixar arrefecer e desenformar.


Para a Cobertura:
-Colocar todos os ingredientes em banho maria e deixar derreter, deitar em cima do bolo.

Cake ingredients:
250 gr of carrot grated finnely
Peel of 1 orange
4 Large Eggs
200 gr sugar
100 gr oil
220 gr flour
1 tbl yeast soup
1 pinch of fine salt
Baking tin with hole
Butter and flour to spread the tin


Chocolate Sauce:
40 gr butter
40 gr of dark chocolate 70% in bar (you can add a few spoons of sugar if you prefer)
20 to 30 grams of milk (it depends if you like the chocolate more liquid or thicker)


-Preheat the oven to 180ºC/356Fº
-Grate carrot and orange peel, reserve.
-In a separate bowl, separate the eggs and beat the yolks with sugar until they appear the sugar has dissolved, add the carrot and orange mixture, the oil, flour and baking powder.
In another bowl, beat the egg whites with the pinch of fine salt. 
-Add the carrot mixture to the egg whites by gently stirring with a wire stick to keep out the air.


-Spread the cake tin with butter and sprinkle with flour, pour the mixture into the tin and put the oven for about 40 min (may varie from oven to oven) at the end of that time, stick a toothpick if there is no uncooked cake, is ready !.
-Remove from oven and let cool and unmold.


Chocolate Sauce:
-Put all the ingredients in a saucepan over water bath and let melt, pour over the cake

* To you who use the american measurements, sorry but i dont have this recipe in cups, but if you have a scale is very easy to do this recipe :)

DIY Saco de compras reutilizável / Reusable shopping bag

                  
Quando vou às compras uso sacos reutilizáveis, que além de serem do mesmo tamanho de um saco que se compra no supermercado, podem ser lavados as vezes que quisermos.
Utilizei uns tecidos do ikea que tinha em casa, portanto cada um destes sacos devem ter ficado cerca de 10€/cada.

Material:
-1 saco de plástico para fazer de molde (usei um saco de plástico do Continente)
-Tesoura de tecido e tesoura normal
-Tecido 60cm x 1.30cm (dependo do desenho do próprio tecido)
-Fita de viés (neste caso eu fiz a minha fita, mas podem comprar, poupam tempo)
Viés para a as alças - 2.5 metros com 4 cm de largura
Viés para a parte de baixo do saco - 30cm com 6 cm largura.

When I go to shopping I use reusable bags, which, besides being the same size as a bag bought at the supermarket, can be washed as often as we like.
I used some Ikea fabrics that I had at home, so each of these bags must have been arround10€ /each.

Material:
-1 plastic bag to make mold (I used a plastic shopping bag of a well known supermarket in Portugal)
-Fabric and normal Scissors
-Fabric 60cm x 1.30cm (depends on the design of the fabric itself)
-Bias tape (in this case I made my tape the same as the fabric, but can buy and save time)
Bias for the handles- 2.5 meters, 4 cm wide
Bias for the bottom of the bag - 30cm with 6cm width.

Follow the instructions bellow


Instruções/Instructions:
PT:Cortar o saco como na imagem e copiar o molde para o tecido 2 vezes (frente e verso do saco) - aqui conseguem aumentar uns centímetros caso queiram o saco e/ou as alças mais compridas)
ENG: Cut the plastic bag as in the picture and copy the mold to the fabric 2 times (front and back of the bag- here you can add a few inches if you want the bag and/or the straps longer)

(aqui o tecido está dobrado e do aveso/fabric folded and wrong side out)

PT: Juntar direito com direito e coser com ponto recto todos os locais onde têm molas (em cima e nos lados)

ENG: Rigt side together, sew with strait stitching where de springs are (top and sides)

                                    (aqui o tecido está aberto / fabric open - right side facing)


PT: Vire o saco de forma a ficar com o direito para fora e dobre como a imagem em baixo
ENG: Turn the fabric right side out and fold like the image below

PT: Feche o tecido em baixo com viés e remate as alças também com o viés, e o saco está finalizado!

ENG: Close the fabric underneath and the handles with bias, and the bag is finished!
