I had already shown how it was the dresser we painted in this post, now I will show you how I organize it.

We like to have few things and the less things in sight, the better.
On top of the dresser, there's the changing mat (ikea) and the wicker basket that is reused and was modified by me in this post
On top of the dresser hanging on the wall we also have some frames that we painted and that I will show you the process in a post later.

In the basket are the essentials for the baby (from left to right)
In the glass vase I have scissors, thermometer, nail file, face cream;
In the second vase i have samples of creams and single dose saline to clean the baby eyes
Hand disinfectant
Micellar water, to clean those hardest poops
Uriage body cream (had already shown in this post)
Compresses (in the 1st month I used sterilized)
Diapers;
Reusable or disposable wipes (I use both versions of pee use reusable, when it is poop I use disposable ones) i make my own wipes in this post
Diapers

In the drawers I'll talk later on in another post.

We all know that we have to save the environment (and our wallet).

I'd personally like to use reusable diapers and wipes since baby A's birth, I'll talk to you in a post later, but we'll try anyway as soon as he has enough weight for the diapers (we didn't buy reusable newborn diapers)
Most day care centers do not accept either reusable wipes or diapers as they have the idea that is a thing of the past and that we still do laundry in the tank as before and that does not have the same hygiene as a disposable diaper.

I asked my mother-in-law for a used but not needed flannel sheet, cut this sheet and squares of 8,66 inchx8,66 inch and joined two by two with the sides as I did here, Gave me 15 wipes.

I am only cleaning with warm water, and maybe later I can find a solution with the shower gel and water, there are several recipes on the internet that I have to research and test.

We also use the waterwipes when we go out, as they seem to be the most natural for baby's skin and are more practical outside the home. I just wish they were biodegradable.

So far it is going well, but now the rainy season is starting and I don't know how the drying of the clothes will go.

I bought some curtains at ikea that were too long for the place where I was going to apply them. After measurements, there was a lot of fabric leftover that I decided to use to sew some cloth bags that are to be used when I go shopping fruits or bread.
I will also use them to bring my baby's first clothes when I go to the hospital to give birth. I made simple bags that are 100% cotton and made of various sizes.

To close the bags I used a ribbon that I had already bought a long time ago and since it was not enough for all the bags, I used satin ribbons, which also have alot of colors from another projetcs.

In total i sew 6 bags.

We are already preparing the room of our baby, we chose the neutral colors for the general decoration with some notes of color.
We chose the traditional blue color for notes.
For basket that will be in the place where we plan to change the diapers  and we used a basket that we had previously but that was too dark for the decoration i wanted.
We started by giving the first coat with a white spray and then finished with 2 coats of blue paint.
We use the Rust-oleum chalky finish Blue Sky spray, then lined the basket with ligther fabric that is the same as the curtains of the room  we bought this curtains Hannalill in ikea, the curtains were so long  that i have spare  fabric for lining this basket and another project that I will tell you more in other post.
In total all the paints cost about € 15, but it was a good investment, 1ª wicker baskets are expensive and we didn't find the size that we needed and we also used the white spray in another project and there is still blue ink left for another decor in the room that I will show you in another post.
i also put a felt underneath for teh basket not to scratch the painting of the furniture that we also painted (i already showed you in this post)

Tamanho final 42x42cm

****

This is one of the projects that I want do this Christmas to decorate my living room, I saw many interesting ideas in the pinterest.
In the previous years I made these pillows with Christmas fabric I bought at Ikea, and this year I decided to make other pillows to accompany the older ones in this decoration that will be in red and white.

To make my life easier, I was looking for inexpensive pillow cases, but i only found ones that was 19x19 Inch, but that size was huge for what I had in mind, so I decided to buy the fabric and do it myself.

Note: anyone who does not have a sewing machine can also do this project, just buy the already made cushion covers and paste the deer with fabric glue or hot glue.

Materials:

1 yard of white fabric (I bought the Minna fabric Ikea 100% cotton) / or already finished covers
2 Red frabric
2 zippers of 15.74 inch white (you can choose to do without zippers, use buttons or Velcro)
Print deer images (in my case it was A3,I searched the internet)

Sewing machine, scissors, fabric glue or hot glue, white line, etc.

Final size 16,3inch X 16,3inch

Very Important !!: Wash the fabric first, sometimes we are so excited to do the things that we forget to wash and then when the final piece's are washed they can shrink and deform and we regret we didn't wash the fabric previously.

PT:Fazer a almofada com fecho escondido
Eng: make the cushion with hidden zipper

Eng:Cut the templates with the silhouettes of the deer on red fabric and glue in the center of the cushion with fabric glue (follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the glue).

Eng: Make zigzag stitch all the way around the piece.

Eng: After finishing the zigzag trim the excess thread so the deer becomes more defined, iron the pillows and put a stuffing pillow inside.

DIY Mala de ombro II / Hobo bag II

Pormenor do fecho / Zipper detail

Detalhe da pega / Handle detail

Molde/ pattern Via Pinterest

O molde encontrei no pinterest

Autumn version of the Hobo Bag that I showed you before, I used a fabric from the Pra Kriar store (Lisbon), which I bought last year, it is not the most suitable fabric for frequently used bags, since it tends to form a litlle balls os wool (i dont know how to say in inglish, but it is a fabric so cute and so beautiful that I could not resist making this bag.
The interior is black and has a pocket.

****

I have not done kitchen coaster for years, the ones I have are old and worn out, besides I burned a coaster and now I only have one to use :)
Again, I used fabrics that I already had at home that were used in other projects, but can buy the fabric you want.

Final size 6,29inch x 6,29inch, but can do with any size you want

Material necessário for 1 kitchen coaster:
2 squares of fabric with 6,69inch x 6,69 inch (includes 0.19 inch seam allowance)
1 square of filling paste with 6,69inch x 6,69 inch (includes 0.19 inch seam allowance)

Assembalnce: join the fabrics with face to face and in the following order:
Fabric 1 / Fabric 2 / filler  - (When you turn the coaster inside out, the filler is between the two fabrics)

Sticth all around, leaving an entrance (see photo) to be able to turn the coaster.
Cut the 4 ends and turn the handle by pushing the corners out, ironing and closing the handle all the way around.

Voila! new kitchen handles!

Usei o 1º tecido à esquerda / I used the 1 fabric on the left

Material necessário para uma pega / material necessary for one coaster

Abertura para poder virar a peça / Opening to turn the piece right side out

Pega virada do lado direito ainda com entrada aberta / Coaster rigth side out whith the open unseamed

****

I love sewing whenever I have free time, I needed a lightweight and simple bag, I search in the pinterest for free patterns and I found this pattern. I confessed that I had to make some changes, but I liked it so much that I made several versions of this bag.

This is the summer version, I chose a fabric with a flowery pattern and colorfull, I bought the fabric in nomalism store and cost about 16€ /m, for the inside the bag also bought the fabric in the same store.
The zipper, I bought downtown at store called feira dos tecidos.

And of course, I took more than 4 hours to do, but this has to do with the seamstress and not with the project !!

Produto final / Finished project

Tecido interior 2º a contar da esquerda/ tecido exterior 1º a contar da direita
Interior fabric 2nd on the left / outside fabric 1º on the rigth side
